Oklahoma Basketball: Sooners move up to No. 7 in AP Poll

The Sooners take their top-10 ranking into a pivotal matchup with No. 11 North Carolina.

Following yet another unblemished week of basketball, the Oklahoma Sooners (10-0) moved up to No. 7 in this week’s AP Poll.

This comes after the Sooners put together yet another strong performance — this time an 81-47 win over Green Bay. To this point, OU has claimed victories over Iowa, USC, Providence and Arkansas, but the biggest test of the young season undoubtedly comes this Wednesday, as the Sooners are set to face North Carolina in the Jumpman Invitational.

No matter what happens in this matchup, this team’s run of form in non-conference play has been nothing short of spectacular. This team moves the ball well, plays incredible defense and has a knack for making the big shots in the right moments. Additionally, it’s apparent that Moser did a fantastic job assembling this roster through the portal.

This group just seems to check every box. After watching the past two seasons of OU basketball, it was apparent that the priority for the offseason was to add length and athleticism to this roster. It’s safe to say Moser has passed that test with flying closers, and this group seems equipped to compete in the Big 12.
