Happy Tuesday, friends and fans!
Toby Rowland — aka the voice of the Oklahoma Sooners — is doing what he can to combat any play-by-play rust that may develop due to the sports world being put on an indefinite hold. Just how serious is the situation? If this awesome call of a squirrel unknowingly tempting fate with a box trap doesn’t explain it, I don’t know what else to tell you. Just watch and enjoy for yourself.
Thanks Nate! More tomorrow. Keep em comin. pic.twitter.com/xOrtXU4Dpa

We may not have any actual games to talk about, but thankfully we’ve still got Toby in the booth bringing the heat. He’s also doing well from a health standpoint, which is always good news.
If you want the chance to have the voice of OU Football announce a moment in your life (no matter how mundane), hit him up on this tweet thread with a clip of said moment and you too could be like Nate and that lucky squirrel who came up big in the clutch.
...playing board games, hoops in the driveway, sitting on the couch, taking a nap....anything! I need some pxp practice and we’ll have some fun surviving these strange days together. #BoomerSooner

Now onto today’s Hot Links! Oklahoma adds a new offensive analyst, Barry Switzer is handling this pandemic like a champ, the Rams have a revamped look and more!
OU Links
- Redshirt junior WR Charleston Rambo might have the best name on the team, and I’m happy to say he definitely doesn’t shy away from the natural association of Sylvester Stallone’s action-hero character ‘Rambo’. Just check out this sweet tee. Now I can’t help but think about how dope it would be if he wore that iconic bandana underneath his helmet during games, with the long ends hanging out from the bottom. Please, please do that.

- OU has added former UCLA assistant and Texas A&M QB Conner McQueen to its staff as an offensive analyst.
- With Trey Sermon now playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes, The Athletic’s Jason Kersey took another look at the Sooners’ updated running back room. Kennedy Brooks, Rhamondre Stevenson and T.J. Pledger all have quality experience, and there are at least a couple other options to watch for from newcomers like Marcus Major and Seth McGowan. Heads up, you need a subscription to read the full article.
- Barry Switzer may be 82, but he’s still young at heart and in relatively great shape. Unfortunately, the widespread quarantine stemming from COVID-19 is affecting him just like the rest of us, meaning he’s had to close himself off from the outside world. What people love about ‘The King’ is his infectious personality, so even though he’s not able to socialize like he wants to at this time, the Tulsa World’s Guerin Emig recently caught up with him to see how he’s holding up during this unprecedented holding pattern.
- Although the gymnastics season was cut short, Oklahoma’s Maggie Nichols, Jade Degouveia, Ragan Smith, Allie Stern and Anastasia Webb all combined for a total of 14 All-American honors. Well done, ladies!

- Speaking of seasons being cut short, the college baseball season was practically still revving up before the NCAA shut down all spring sports and related events. It’s obviously been a unique ordeal, but at least junior pitcher Dane Acker was able to give the Sooners their first no-hitter in over 30 years when Oklahoma outlasted LSU, 1-0 on March 1. Presently, Baseball America ranks that game the second-best college baseball contest of the brief 2020 season. Boomer!
Take a bow, Dane Acker.

He threw @OU_Baseball's first individual no-no since 1989 this season.
It was the second-best college game in the country this year.

- In case you missed it, Kamiar Mehrabian recently broke down the top five list of 2021 five-star QB Caleb Williams. The recruitment for this star-studded signal caller has been highly competitive, but Oklahoma appears to be in a great position to ultimately land the verbal commitment of the coveted D.C. product.
Around the Sports World
- Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has officially been postponed, and is expected to commence on a future date no later than during the summer of 2021.

- The Carolina Panthers are expected to release former MVP QB Cam Newton on Tuesday after nine seasons in Charlotte.
- Former Alabama Crimson Tide QB Tua Tagovailoa is moving around and throwing in a football training setting a month ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft. Considering the severity of the hip and ankle injuries that he suffered last fall, it appears his recovery has progressed quite well.

- The Pittsburgh Pirates delivered 400 pizzas to the workers of local Allegheny General Hospital in an effort to show support and appreciation for their tireless duty during this time of global crisis. Great stuff.
- The Los Angeles Rams are officially sporting a new look outfitted with a fresh logo and an updated color scheme. Specifically, the team’s colors are now ‘Rams royal blue’ and ‘Sol (sun) yellow’. It will take some getting used to, but honestly it’s not too bad.
A new look for your Rams.
