This one was originally scheduled for Nov. 28 and was given the prime time slot on ABC. Of course, that was before OU was hit with a bit of a COVID-19 outbreak, which pushed the game back to this coming Saturday. OU was without plenty of contributors against Baylor, so you can imagine how much worse the situation was the week prior.
Anyway, with this game no longer having any bearing on a Big 12 title berth, it’ll be interesting to see how OU comes out of the gate in this one. While this and the early road kick could potentially be a red flag for motivation, the obvious assumption is that Lincoln Riley and the offense (particularly the offensive line) will be looking to make a statement after a lackluster performance against Baylor. On defense, Alex Grinch surely won’t let his group rest on its laurels after the shorthanded “Speed D” put together such an admirable performance, and they’re not going up against group that’s lighting it up. In short, I like OU’s chances.
