The Oklahoma Sooners are having a great Saturday for both current and future players as Lincoln Riley picked up his third wide receiver commitment for the 2022 recruiting class. Edmond Santa Fe’s Talyn Shettron decided he was going to stay home for college and made his pledge to spend his college years in Norman. Shettron chose OU over Arkansas, Auburn, Notre Dame, Texas and several others.
Shettron is Oklahoma’s fourth commit for the 2022 class, including being the third receiver commitment, where the Sooners keep on reeling in top talent. The talented pass catcher from Edmond is a Top 100 talent as the No. 54 player and No. 8 receiver overall, continuing Dennis Simmons’ dominance as a recruiter. Shettron is a 6’3 giant specializing in using his long frame and multi-sport talents from basketball to high point balls as well as being a gritty blocker.
Oklahoma has been recruiting elite talent from all positions on offense with three of the current 2022 commits being Top 100 players, continuing Lincoln Riley’s path to consistent success a year in advance of the current recruiting class. Shettron is the best athlete to come out of Edmond Santa Fe since Reggie Smith and isn’t a guy that can just play in the NCAA— Lincoln Riley has made it clear, he wants guys that can play in the NFL.
