According to a report from The Athletic’s Jason Kersey, Oklahoma Sooners freshman linebacker Jonathan Perkins has entered the transfer portal.
True freshman #Sooners LB Jonathan Perkins has entered the transfer portal. He’s made no appearances this season so far.

Perkins, a former three-star recruit and early enrollee out of San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon, has not seen any game action thus far. Considering how much Alex Grinch has been rotating players late in games, this was probably a discouraging situation for him.
The nation’s No. 41 OLB in the 2019 class (247Composite) chose the Sooners over UCLA, Texas A&M and others.
While this obviously didn’t apply in Perkins’ case, you’ll likely see a few more of these in the coming weeks as players approach the four-game redshirt threshold. It’s important to note that entry into the transfer portal does not indicate finality, though signs would obviously point to a move being made.
