A few things of note:
- Oklahoma dropped a spot for the second time this season despite not putting forth a bad performance thus far. Poor showings by Houston and UCLA (Washington State comeback notwithstanding) certainly haven’t helped in that regard. Having said that, LSU’s movement following the Texas win was probably unavoidable on OU’s end, and Ohio State has looked pretty sharp up to this point.
- TCU no longer represents the Big 12 in the poll following a loss to SMU, but Kansas State’s entry keeps the league at three top 25 teams. Oklahoma State certainly helped its image with its effort in Austin, as the Cowboys are currently just two spots out of the poll at No. 27.
- Notre Dame only fell three spots after putting up quite a fight in Athens, which is definitely understandable. They deserve to be ahead of Texas, who sits one spot behind the Irish at No. 11. This week, they’ll face No. 18 Virginia, which might be the toughest team left on their schedule.
