Oklahoma Sooners Football: An Updated List of Sooners in the NFL

New, 2 comments

Here’s where you can find all your favorite former Sooners this preseason.

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

As of Aug. 3, 39 former Oklahoma Sooners (or 40 if you include Trent Williams) will enter training camp on NFL rosters. They range from 11 rookies who suited up for the Crimson & Cream last year all the way to Adrian Peterson, who is entering his 13th NFL season.

Sooners are scattered across 21 different teams. The Baltimore Ravens are the most OU-heavy team with five players, four of whom they’ve drafted in the last two years.

The Falcons, Bears, Cowboys, Broncos, Jets, Lions, Patriots, Raiders, Seahawks, Steelers, and 49ers are the only teams without a former Sooner on their roster, so don’t root for them. The Chiefs are the only AFC West team with multiple Sooners, so Kansas City is now the official NFL team of the University of Oklahoma. Note: Or it’s because I’m from Wichita and carry an obvious bias. Either way, I’m glad that’s settled.

There’s been a lot of movement this offseason, so we thought it’d be a good time to post an updated list of where you can find former Sooners this preseason. Since the preseason has just begun, this will change quite a bit as teams whittle down their rosters.
