A week after visiting Norman for the Friday Night Lights Spring Game, Little Elm HS defensive back Ryan Watts has chosen the Oklahoma Sooners over Texas, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Arkansas and others.

Watts is a four-star prospect and is the largest cornerback that Oklahoma has recruited in some time— a sign of things to come in Alex Grinch’s “Speed D”. Watts stands at an enormous 6’3, 187lbs, and he’s very fluid in and out of his breaks especially for his size. Needless to say, he’s a special talent.
The nation’s No. 344 prospect will likely skyrocket up recruiting boards as his senior year progresses. Just like many other defensive backs that fit Alex Grinch’s philosophy, Watts is a physical presence in the defensive backfield with the upside of a five-star athlete.
The very talented Watts joins the 2020 class along with recent DB commit Dontae Manning, who added his name to the class not long after the spring game. In total, OU’s class sits at seven commits. As the class continues to grow (and it has plenty of room to do so), expect OU to climb the 2020 rankings fairly quickly.
