The OU staff rarely has trouble enticing highly-touted skill players to come to Norman, and that trend continues with the commitment of Cody Jackson. Jackson is a former high school teammate of CeeDee Lamb at Foster HS (Richmond, Texas) and has chosen the Oklahoma Sooners over Alabama, Texas, Michigan, and LSU.
Jackson is a four-star prospect and projects to be a slot with his 6’0, 169 frame. Potentially adding a player of Jackson’s calibur to the fold is ideal, as the staff will need to continue adding weapons for presumed future starter Spencer Rattler.
The nation’s No. 52 2021 prospect could skyrocket up boards as he gets more exposure in his final two seasons at Foster HS. Jackson is fast, agile and has incredible hands to make tough catches in tight situations.
The talented Jackson is OU’s second commitment of Oklahoma’s Spring Game weekend — joining 2020 DB Dontae Manning — and is the first commitment of the 2021 class. At this point, there are still two sets of eyeball emojis that are yet to be accounted for, so stay tuned.
