As Bob Przybylo was first to report, junior defensive lineman Tyreece Lott is no longer with the Oklahoma Sooners. The Ardmore native made 16 appearances over two seasons with no starts.
#OU confirms junior defensive lineman Tyreece Lott is no longer on the team. Originally from Ardmore, Lott played in 16 games the last 2 seasons w/ 14 total tackles.— Bob Przybylo (@BPrzybylo) April 11, 2019
Former Ardmore Tiger Tyreece Lott is leaving the Sooners football program according to OU, we’ll have more details for you tonight on @KTENnews at 10 @SportsKTEN @ardmorefootball pic.twitter.com/eg3ulTy98W— Brendan Agans (@BrendanAgans) April 12, 2019
This news marks the fourth loss suffered by the Sooners’ D-line since the offseason began. In February, redshirt freshman DE Ron Tatum declared his intention to transfer. Then 2019 DT signee Derek Green had a last minute change of heart and is now expected to play for the Vanderbilt Commodores. Finally, redshirt freshman Jordan Kelley suffered a lower body injury and underwent surgery, sidelining him indefinitely.
OU will need to hope for a little love from Lady Luck when it comes to staying healthy up front in 2019, because the room is a bit emptier now than it was two months ago.
