Oklahoma Wins Again, Slows Denver By 3 Tenths

This weekend, Oklahoma’s Star Studded Women’s Gymnastics team traveled to Denver to take on Denver University, Despite a very strong effort on home turf from Denver, including fantastic performances from Maddie Karr and Lynzee Brown that would see them both land in the Top 4 of All Around competitors this week, the Sooners would once again come out on top 197.7-197.4 to win the meet on the road.

Olivia Trautman led the Sooners on Vault, and won the event with a 9.9 score. Maggie Nichols would take both Bars and Beam for the Sooners as well, putting up near-Perfect 9.975’s on both events, while Lynzee Brown took Floor for Denver, putting up an impressive Perfect 10 this week. Maddie Karr would take the All Around Title for Denver, putting up a 39.650.

Oklahoma’s 197.7 would be good enough for second in the nation this week behind an impressive Florida Gators performance of 197.85, after Oklahoma defeated them by 3 Tenths last week. Denver would take the 4th spot nationally with their 197.4 behind the aforementioned Gators and Sooners, as well as the defending champion UCLA Bruins who finished with a 197.6. It would be Denver’s 4th highest score in Team History, and the largest crowd in Team history of 6,100 (previous record of 4,634 this January).

Other 9.9+ scores this meet beyond the event winners came from:

Vault- Only Olivia Trautman’s 9.9
