Four-star safety Bryson Washington announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners on the Fourth of July, and now he’s officially on board with a signed National Letter of Intent.

To put it simply, Washington is exactly what Alex Grinch likes in his safeties — tall, long and athletic. These attributes also happened to gain the 6’2” Houston native plenty of respect from big-time programs and recruiting services alike, as he’s listed as the No. 207 overall player (No. 19 safety) in the country and has at some point received offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Texas amongst others.

With Oklahoma having a glaring issue with quality depth at the safety position, Grinch’s new guys are going to have a chance to see the field sooner rather than later, and Washington is certainly a name to which that applies.
