Mesquite (Texas) Poteet running back Seth McGowan committed to the Oklahoma Sooners back in June, and on Wednesday he was able to make it official by signing his National Letter of Intent. The four-star back received offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Texas at various points in his recruiting process.

McGowan, who is labeled as the No. 134 overall player and No, 13 running back in the 247Composite rankings for 2020, has the upside to join the pantheon of revered backs in the program’s history. At 215 pounds and possessing the burst to hit any hole, it wouldn’t take much to get him physically ready to contribute right away. Fortunately, OU won’t need him to do that, as the depth at the position should easily allow him some time to fine-tune his skills before he’s expected to enter the limelight.
Of course, Jase McClellan is no longer in the fold for the Sooners, so there’s a chance that another back could join him in this class by the time February rolls around.
