The Oklahoma Sooners landed arguably the most important piece of their 2020 recruiting class Wednesday with the signing of Perrion Winfrey, the top JUCO prospect in the country.

With redshirt senior Neville Gallimore heading to the NFL and classmates Marquise Overton and Dillon Faamatau graduating, Winfrey could provide immediate help in the middle of the Sooners’ defensive front. His size (6-4, 305 pounds) makes the Iowa Western Community College product a natural fit at the nose tackle position.
Ranked as a four-star DT by the 247 Composite Rating, Winfrey will probably find himself rotating at nose next season with redshirt sophomore Jordan Kelley. Expect Winfrey to be one of the most closely watched players in the program this offseason.
