Lincoln Riley and Bill Bedenbaugh continue to stockpile quality linemen in Norman with Nate Anderson’s LOI. The Frisco, Texas prospect has signed with the Oklahoma Sooners and is headed to Norman.
A typical Bill Bedenbaugh monster, Anderson stands tall at 6’5, but a “light” 262lbs (and plenty of room to grow) with very long arms. As an offensive tackle, he has elite athleticism, you can find that in the way he also plays defensive end. According to 247Sports, he is rated as the nation’s No. 1 Guard and 9th best player from Texas and the 50th best player in the country. He’s got great length and reminds me quite a bit of Dru Samia.
There is absolutely no way that Anderson sees the field at Oklahoma during his first year unless there are several injuries. The truth is that Oklahoma is loaded and set at guard with Marquis Hayes and Tyrese Robinson. He will translate and use his elite athleticism under Coach Bedenbaugh, but he will have to get in the weight room with Bennie Wylie in order to completely fill out his form. Anderson’s time will come and he will be a monster— just like Coach B ordered.
