Tonight, the Oklahoma Sooners are in Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys for the 114th edition of Bedlam. More than bragging rights are on the line for OU, as the College Football Playoff is within striking distance. For OSU, Chuba Hubbard is looking to make his final case for the Heisman Trophy. Here to discuss the Orange & Black is Micah Allen of Cowboys Ride For Free — SB Nation’s site for Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State’s defense got off to an inauspicious start in its second season under Jim Knowles, but the group has definitely buckled down during this winning streak. What’s been the key to this unit’s turnaround?
Being able to get turnovers. Kolby Harvell-Peel has been in peoples faces all season breaking up passes. But recently started buckling down and catching those broken-up passes. I would contribute this to maturity and just the safeties coming into their own in general.
Switching over to the offense, in the absence of Spencer Sanders, how does OSU’s offensive scheme change with Dru Brown now at the helm of the offense?
Well they certainly miss the QB run, but I think that’s been replaced with Brown can sling it a little bit more. For some reason last week Cowboy Back Jelani Woods caught his first TD of the season for some reason so I guess we’re using tight ends now? Which is exciting because I really like Jelani Woods. Brown has some issues throwing down field so being able to pitch it to a tight end is *chefs kiss*
We obviously can’t talk about the offense without bringing up the nation’s leading rusher. To the best of your ability, state your case for Chuba Hubbard to be the most deserving candidate for the Heisman trophy.
He’s a beast. You can’t bring him down. The dude has had two weeks off throughout the season, and he STILL leads the freaking nation. Not only that but it’s not even close! He’s got 1832 and Johnathan Taylor (guy behind him) had 1685. That’s a football game. INVITE THIS KID TO NEW YORK OR I WILL HUNT DOWN VOTERS. (I am kidding).
With Tylan Wallace out for the year, which of Dru Brown’s targets should Oklahoma fans keep the closest eye on this weekend?
Dillon Stoner for sure. He’s really stepped up in the absence of Wallace and he’s good all over the field. He’s adjusted really well to his new spot.
Who is your favorite Oklahoma State alum outside of sports?
I gotta say T-Boone. I went to a hospital for children when I was little that he donated to so he’s helped me more than I probably even know. And sports wouldn’t be what they are without him.
Not that you would necessarily want to do this, but if you could snap your fingers and change Mike Gundy’s hairstyle into anything else, what would be your pick?
A mohawk. Or liberty spikes, Gundy gives me big punk vibes.
Why is Eskimo Joe’s so overrated, and which establishments are actually the best places to eat and drink in Stillwater?
Welp it’s just what you do when you come to Stillwater. People like the atmosphere. However, I’m not a huge fan of their food. The cheese fries are the only thing worth going for.
Who is your favorite OSU football player of all time, and who is your favorite OU football player of all time?
I would say Barry Sanders. I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t grow up an OSU fan. But I grew up hearing about him and how amazing he was. Watching his tape is amazing. For OU I’m gonna say AD. He’s from about 30 minutes from where I was born and kinda put east Texas on the map.
What do you hate most about OU fans?
The fact that they’re OU fans lol- JK really, it’s that they don’t appreciate what they have. Or at least it seems that way from the outside.
How do you see this one playing out? What’s your score prediction?
I’m gonna say…. 45-38 OU. I just don’t see OSU having quite enough to put the upset away. OU’s offense will just be too much I think.
