Oklahoma Sooners Basketball - OU rallies late to beat William & Mary 75-70

The Sooners improve to 4-0 on the season

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but an Oklahoma Sooners team rallied back from a shaky first half to win.

Okay, Monday night’s win didn’t have quite as much drama as Saturday night in Waco, but it was an impressive 75-70 win over William & Mary nonetheless.

Reigning Big 12 Player of the Week Kristian Doolittle led the way for the Sooners with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Austin Reaves continued his red hot start to the season with 18 points and 9 rebounds, including a clutch jumper in the final minute to put OU up by 4 and effectively ice the game.

The Sooners got off to an abysmal 4-15 start from the field and found themselves down 19-8 early. A couple quick buckets from Reaves cut the Tribe lead to 39-37 at the half.

OU took it’s first lead of the game after back-to-back threes from Reaves and Brady Manek sparked an 8-0 run. Manek struggled from the field all night shooting just 4-13 from the field, but he was able to come up with a few key buckets when his team needed him.

The Sooners ended the game on a 10-2 run to improve to 4-0 on the year. It wasn’t pretty, but OU found a way to win against a respectable W&M squad.

Up next the Sooners host Maryland Eastern Shore Thursday night before headed to Kansas City for the Hall of Fame during Thanksgiving week. Thursday’s game tips off at 7 PM CT and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
