A few things:
- Since being ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, Clemson has dropped from all the way to No. 4. The last preseason No. 1 to fall that far without a loss was Oklahoma in 1977, when a narrow Week 1 victory over Vanderbilt dropped the Sooners to No. 5
- Following three consecutive wins, the Iowa State Cyclones have return to the top 25. That gives the Big 12 four AP top 25 teams for the first time this season.
- Undefeated Baylor has moved up to No. 14 following its win at Oklahoma State. If the Bears stay unbeaten until the Nov. 16 matchup with OU in Waco (they play WVU in Waco and TCU in Ft. Worth between now and then), there’s a non-zero chance that they’ll end up hosting College GameDay. The other possibility for that week would be No. 10 Georgia vs. No. 9 Auburn, but it’s highly likely that at least one of those teams will enter that week with a second loss.
