For the second time in two days, the Oklahoma Sooners have earned a commitment for the 2019 class, this time in the form of four-star wing Jalen Hill. The Las Vegas Ed W. Clark senior has chosen the Sooners over a top six that included UNLV, TCU, Florida State, St. John’s and DePaul. Hill also claims past offers from the likes of Arizona, Illinois, Oregon, USC and Wisconsin.

Listed at 6’7” and possessing considerable length, Hill has the potential to be an exceptional perimeter defender at the collegiate level. The offensive upside is there, as well, as the nation’s No. 101-ranked player (247Composite) possesses good athleticism and is just scratching the surface as a ball-handler and shooter.
Hill is now Oklahoma’s third commitment of the 2019 class, joining PG De’Vion Harmon and PF Victor Iwuakor in a group that currently tops the Big 12 recruiting rankings (once they update). Additionally, this class is still far from a finished product, as OU has to replace six scholarship seniors following the 2018-19 season.
As it currently stands, Hill is a crucial commit for a team that will lose Christian James and Rashard Odomes out on the perimeter before his arrival. Grad transfer combo guard Miles Reynolds is also in his final season of eligibility, so there’s still work to do at the 2 and 3 spots.
Below is some footage of a December game between Hill’s Clark squad and Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle, which includes OU QB commit Spencer Rattler and five-star point guard prospect Nico Mannion.
