Oklahoma Sooners: College Football TV Schedule & Gambling Picks - Week 3

What’s up, Sooner fans? It’s time to take a stab at these gambling picks once again. I failed miserably two weeks ago with my pick against an OU cover, but I actually didn’t screw up too badly last week (although I did whiff on the over/under). In Week 2, I went 4-3 against the spread and 1-6 (TWO AND FIVE) on the O/U, so if you’re going to trust any of my picks (why the hell would you do that?!), perhaps stick with the spreads.

Here we go...

Oklahoma (-17.5) at Iowa State - This Oklahoma Sooners offense can be thrown out of rhythm by Iowa State’s defense — which often operates in a 3-3-5 — and this could potentially stay within reach for much longer than OU would obviously prefer. However, I think Oklahoma’s athleticism is going to win out. Additionally, limiting big plays is a tall task when Kyler Murray is involved — 3-3-5 or not. Gambling pick: Oklahoma covers. Over 55

Rutgers at Kansas (-2.5) - KANSAS IS FAVORED AGAINST A P5 OPPONENT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL The annual Iowa-Iowa State game is referred to as “El Assico”, but this one might have to steal that title for a week. Gambling pick: F*** it. I’ll take Kansas with the cover at home. Over 44.5

LSU at Auburn (-10.5) - Auburn has the better squad, but this has the makings of a low-scoring game without much separation. Gambling pick: Auburn wins but fails to cover against LSU. Under 44.5

Boise State at Oklahoma State (-2.5) - If I had it my way, this game would be canceled. No, not due to a hurricane of anything like, but perhaps on account of the terrible uniforms being unfit for public exposure. In that case, neither program would have an opportunity to pick up a quality win. This might come as a shock to you, but I don’t much care for either of these schools. They can both eat it. Having said that, I’m sort of leaning towards picking Boise, primarily because I think Oklahoma State’s offensive line is going to struggle. Gambling pick: Boise State beats the spread and gets the W. Under 64.5

North Texas at Arkansas (-7) - Former Locust Grove field general Mason Fine is the driving force behind Seth Litrell’s high-powered offense, and the Mean Green has (have?) become a trendy upset pick for their game in Fayetteville. However, this Arkansas team looked fine before pooping the bed late in Ft. Collins, but I don’t think they’ll need to head to Target to buy new sheets for a second time in as many weeks. Gambling pick: Arkansas covers. Over 69

USC at Texas (-3.5) - Wow, where do I go with this one? My instinct earlier in the week was to go with USC, but upon further inspection, the problems in SoCal make the dumpster fire in Austin look like one of those Viking River Cruises. Well, maybe not that great (I swear this isn’t sponsored content), but UT is also at home, and this could be one of their “Texas is back, folks!” moments that we can look back on a mock with uproarious laughter. Gambling pick: Texas covers. Under 47

Ohio State (-12.5) vs. TCU in Arlington - BIG LINE. Some are assuming that this will be similar to a home environment for TCU. In a way, they’re right, because we can probably expect the larger program to account for 60 percent of the fans in attendance. Having said that, this is a BIG LINE, and TCU’s speed at the skill positions is no joke. Gambling pick: TCU beats the spread and makes it a game, but they fall short of the upset. Under 58.5
