Nearly two months after the kickoff times for games against FAU, UCLA and Iowa State were announced, it has been revealed that the Sept. 22 matchup between Oklahoma Sooners and Army Black Knights will kick off just after 6 p.m. CT.

With the 6 p.m. kickoff time and the broadcast info still to be determined, this one seems to have PPV written all over it. The FAU game would’ve been a great candidate for it in years past, but Lane Kiffin’s arrival in Baca Raton (and FAU’s subsequent ascent) upped the profile of this game substantially and made it an appealing matchup for TV partners. OU vs. FAU (Sept. 1) is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on FOX.
With the Sept. 8 UCLA game scheduled for 12 p.m., Army will be Oklahoma’s first home night game of the season. Y’all know I’m all about that! The gears are in motion, and tailgate preparations are in the works. Bloody Marys will be the move for FAU and UCLA, but those won’t be necessary for this one. Oh, who am I kidding? I’ll be tailgating that early regardless, and I expect all of you to do the same.
Additionally, the environment during the leadup to this game is going to be fantastic. Many of you served in the Army, as did many of our friends and family members, so this is going to be a special day for all of us. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a quality flyover courtesy of some Army pilots. I’m already looking forward to it!
