Mississippi State was considered the leader of the pack in the recruitment of Jarrian Jones leading up to his official visit to Norman for the Spring Game, but the four-star safety was impressed by what he saw and announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners on Monday evening. Jones is Oklahoma’s seventh overall commit in the past four days, joining Theo Wease, Arjei Henderson, Jamal Morris, Derek Green, 2020 RB Jaylan Knighton and Notre Dame grad transfer Jay Hayes.

Jones teased at the possibility of a commitment on Sunday, which started a firestorm of #Jarrian2Norman tweets throughout OU Twitter.
Jones is the second four-star safety to commit to the Sooners since Friday, joining Richmond (TX) Fort Bend Bush standout Jamal Morris in OU’s 2019 class. With OU also still in a good position for a number of high-profile players at both safety and corner, Oklahoma defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks seems to really be hitting his stride on the recruiting trail. Cooks — along with Bookie — seems to be making further progress with five-star cornerback Chris Steele, has helped OU land a spot in Erick Young’s top 6 and has OU in good standing with the likes of St. Thomas Aquinas CB Jaden Davis, Georgia safety Jalyn Phillips, local safety Dax Hill and plenty of others.
In Kerry we trust!
