Sooners have to win one eventually...right?

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma at Kansas Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up their sixth consecutive loss as the fell 104-74 at Kansas on Monday night. Poor shooting and bad defense once again did the Sooners in. As it turns out, those two things are kind of important if you want to win basketball games. Who knew?

Kansas started the game on a 20-4 run and never looked back. OU was eventually able to briefly cut the lead to nine in the second half, but it never felt like the victory was ever in jeopardy for Kansas. Monday night marked the first time all season that the Sooners surrendered over 100 points in a game.

The Jayhawks buried OU with a birage of threes. KU finished the game 16-28 from three. That marks the highest number of three-pointers OU has surrendered all season.

Monday night was another case of Trae Young getting smothered and ultimately being unable to manufacture a good look. Young finished with 11 points on 3-13 shooting from the field. He added 9 assists, but it was a moot point as the Jayhawks coasted to an easy victory. The Sooners next chance to snap this losing streak is at home against Kansas State on Saturday.

Here’s a video of Blake Griffin dunking on people to help you try to get the taste of that game out of your mouth.

Only 194 days until football season.
