The Oklahoma Sooners added another strong pass rusher as 3-star JuCo transfer DE LaRon Stokes signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. 247Sports has Stokes rated as the No. 4 JuCo SDE in the class of 2019. Lincoln Riley won Stokes’s commitment over several last-minute suitors including Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Virginia Tech.

Stokes is listed at 6’4” 245 pounds and racked up an impressive 76 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles during his sophomore season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He played his high school ball for NOAH (home school) in his hometown of Tulsa before heading to JUCO.

Stokes was one of the latest commitments in OU’s 2019 class, announcing his commitment on Twitter just a few days ago.

Stokes will have a chance to fight for immediate playing time next season as his pass rushing ability is something OU’s defense has struggled to find the last few years. If he puts on some weight, so can also seem him closer to the inside in certain instances.
