4-star TE Austin Stogner has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Oklahoma Sooners. Stogner is rated at a 0.9643 according to the 247Sports composite rankings, making him the No. 3 rated TE in the class of 2019 and the highest rated TE to sign with OU since Jermaine Gresham (0.9731) in 2006. He was named an Army All-American and held offers from almost every major program in the country including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
Stogner, a Plano, Texas native who attended Prestonwood Academy, committed to OU long ago. He committed to play for the Sooners on June 23, 2017 and remained loyal to his commitment throughout the entire process.
Listed at 6’6” 235 pounds, Stogner is an absolute nightmare for defenders in coverage. he averaged almost 14 yards per reception during his senior season at Prestonwood. Stogner is even bigger than Mark Andrews or Grant Calcaterra and has great speed and agility to go along with his size. Even though Calcaterra is just a sophomore this season, Stogner will have a great chance to come in and earn significant playing time as a true freshman next season.
