After a convincing win in Ft. Worth and a huge upset in West Lafayette, the Oklahoma Sooners are up to No. 8 in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll.

Other than Ohio State’s loss to Purdue, the college football world was somewhat quiet this weekend. The Big 12’s week was particularly uneventful, with Oklahoma and Texas Tech picking up comfortable wins in the conference’s two lone contests. The league currently has three teams (No. 6 Texas, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 13 WVU) ranked in the AP Poll, but the Red Raiders are now just one back of the No. 25 slot. No other Big 12 teams received a vote this week.
For those of you who are curious, the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2018 season will be released Tuesday, Oct. 30.
