ORIGINAL (1/6): The Oklahoma Sooners received their second crucial commitment of the day when four-star OLB DaShaun White announced his decision to attend school and play football in Norman. White had been committed to Texas A&M since August.

White is listed as the No. 227 overall player and No. 16 OLB in the 247Composite Rankings. The North Richland Hills (TX) Richland product committed to Texas A&M back in August, but it’s been a back-and-forth between the Aggies and Sooners ever since. An OV to Norman back in late October combined with the staff change in College Station really gave Oklahoma an opening, and Jimbo Fisher and his staff were unable to do what was necessary to keep him on board. A&M recently hired Notre Dame’s Mike Elko to be its defensive coordinator, but that wasn’t enough to win the battle in the end.
White is the 23rd member of the 2018 class (which includes 18 signees) and is the third linebacker to come on board, joining Brian Asamoah and Nik Bonitto. White is also the second player to commit to Oklahoma today, joining fellow US Army All-American Brendan Radley-Hiles.
