This weekend saw four of the nation’s top five teams locked in close games in the fourth quarter, but all four were able to survive and keep their perfect records in tact. Aside from Alabama’s 59-0 beat down of Vanderbilt, none of the nation’s top teams looked particularly impressive on Saturday. That’s why it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that there was no movement at the top of either major poll this week. OU remained at No. 3 in both the AP and the Amway Coaches Polls, and that is likely where they’ll stay for at least another week as the Sooners have a bye this weekend.
Three other Big 12 teams cracked the top 25 this week. TCU jumped to No. 9 and Oklahoma State fell to No. 15 in the AP Poll following the Horned Frogs’ 44-31 win over the Pokes in Stillwater. West Virginia reentered the AP Poll at No. 23 after being unranked the past two weeks. Here are the AP and Coaches Polls in their entirety.
