Crawford is the fourth receiver commitment of Oklahoma’s 2018 class.

Things were a bit quiet on the recruiting front during the recent dead period, but Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners are back up and running after earning a commitment from four-star athlete Jaquayln Crawford. The Rockdale, Texas, native chose Oklahoma over the TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

While he is projected to be a receiver at Oklahoma, there’s a reason he’s listed as an athlete by recruiting services. Crawford is an outstanding defensive back who could potentially be asked to make a switch if need be. I’d love to see the guy utilized in Lincoln Riley’s offense, but I think he’d also make a great corner or safety at the next level.

If he does stick with the receiver position at the next level, Lincoln Riley is getting a perfect guy for his system. Crawford is an incredibly quick and agile receiver who fits the mold of the other great Oklahoma receivers from recent years. Oklahoma may have quite a few guys who fit the bill in that regard, but this guy has the potential to be a multi-year starter in the slot.

With Crawford’s commitment, Oklahoma now has four receivers in the 2018 class. He joins Kundarrius Taylor, Jaylen Robinson and Treveon Johnson, all of whom have committed to Oklahoma since Riley took over as the head coach. OU’s 2018 class now has a total of 15 commits.
