Oklahoma Sooners Football Recruiting: OU Makes Top 3 For DT Dante Stills

Stills is one of the best recruits in West Virginia.

Fairmont (WV) Senior High defensive lineman Dante Stills released his top three schools on Sunday morning in a tweet.

Stills, a four-star that Rivals ranks as West Virginia’s best recruit, is a WVU legacy and still likely as not to end up with Dana Holgersen and the Mountaineers. But considering his interest in OU is based almost exclusively on his relationship with Calvin Thibodeaux, it’s impressive that the Sooners have made it this far — and indicates they still have a very real chance, especially if they can get him to campus.

Stills’ Twitter timeline reveals at least one retweet of the Sooners touring the new stadium facilities, so he may well be curious enough to come check them out for himself.

Stills already has great D-line size at 6-4, 265 pounds. He has experience in multiple defensive fronts and stances, and is surprisingly quick for his size. Things won’t come quite so easily to him in college, but Stills has a great feel for the game and can straight-up get after the quarterback. He’ll be an asset wherever he goes — but could really help out Oklahoma and its so-so defensive line.

No doubt that’s what Thibodeaux has been telling him. We’ll see if the Sooners can close this deal and poach West Virginia’s best player.
