Oklahoma enters the season opener so far unbeaten in three contests versus the Miners of Texas El-Paso, starting with the first under Bob Stoops to open the 2000 season when the temperatures rose to the triple digits. Hopefully this won’t be the case this time around, but it seems highly likely. It’ll be a good test to see how deep the roster goes, as a fresh, healthy OU team will definitely be needed for the full 60 minutes the following week in Columbus.
The Sooners will take on the Tulane Green Wave on September 16 for the first time ever in program history. It will be the OU’s obligatory pay-per-view game of 2017.
