The No. 9 Sooners overcame a two-run deficit on Tuesday night in Norman, storming back to top the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 6-2.

In his first game back from injury, Austin O’Brien broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the 7th inning with a full-count slam over the right field wall to bring home Jack Flansburg, Steele Walker and Ben Hollas. The runs proved more than enough as the Sooners pitchers excelled after giving up two runs early.

ORU got the scoring started in the 2nd when Brent Williams hit a sac fly and drove in outfielder Noah Cummings. The Eagles struck again in the 5th, as Williams came home on a Dylan Snypes single up the middle.

OU starter Austin Hansen went just three innings on Tuesday, allowing one unearned run on the Williams fly. The OU bullpen cobbled together the rest of the game, allowing just three hits from the 4th inning on.

Oklahoma finally got on the board in the 6th when Steele Walker scored on a Renae Martinez single. Walker then doubled home Brandon Zaragoza in the 7th before O’Brien’s big fly.

The Sooners return to action this Friday night against the Longhorns in Austin. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. on FS1.
