The Sooners got some much-needed good news on Friday afternoon when three-star Deerfield Beach (Fla.) cornerback Miguel Edwards announced his commitment to OU on Twitter.

Edwards was offered by Oklahoma in late February and chose OU over Alabama, Auburn, Miami, North Carolina, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
Edwards is currently on his first-ever visit to Norman with fellow Deerfield Beach player Rosendo Louis. Clearly Edwards is impressed with OU’s presentation, and his addition is a welcome turn of events.

At just 6 feet, 160 pounds, Edwards has some growing to do but is already a bigger hitter than his size would indicate. He has played lots of safety in high school and will bring versatility to the defensive back class. Edwards also shows good instincts and has good hands, often intercepting rather than merely disrupting passes.
After this run of recruiting, it’s great to add a name to the class rather than subtract one. Edwards joins Jordon Austin and Patrick Fields in the ‘18 DB class so far.
