With the 48th overall pick (Round 2), the Cincinnati Bengals have selected Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon.

Mixon has all of the tools to become a generational talent. We’ve mentioned that his ceiling is somewhere close to that of Le’Veon Bell, and we’re not the only ones who feel that way. He’s an all-around back who will be able fit into any type of offensive package. He can be just as valuable on third down as he is on first down. Basically, his skill set translates perfectly to the modern NFL.

You’ve heard about his past. Mixon’s draft story would have been completely different without it. As it stands, Cincinnati is getting an incredible talent. They’re just hoping for a spotless future from Mixon.

Watch his highlights below:

Here’s what Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops had to say about Mixon:

"I'm not sure that anyone in the country has had as much talent at running back as we've had the last couple of years, and Joe was a big part of that," said Stoops. "He has the size and speed you love, but he also has great footwork. He picks the right gaps and then he has the acceleration to make the big play. He's great catching the ball out of the backfield and it's pretty rare the first guy brings him down. When you add in his abilities on special teams, Joe is something very rare. I'm proud of his development on and off the field."

Mixon joins a backfield in Cincinnati that currently features Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. One would think that the Bengals plan on moving one of those pieces around in light of this selection
