Oklahoma has secured the commitment of the nation’s second-rated all-purpose back in T.J. Pledger out of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.). The 5-8, 190-pound rusher is an explosive athlete and home run threat who looks like he’s tailor-made for Lincoln Riley’s offense and the return game. Pledger has held the Sooners near the top of his list for some time, making a visit during Bedlam and following it up with another stop in Norman this weekend.

Pledger’s burst and agility truly stand out when watching his film. His stout build and shiftiness make up for his height as well. His ability to get to the edge is exceptional and his open-field speed is definitely his strongest asset. OU’s backfield rotation looks to be stacked for years to come, but the speedy multi-purpose weapon definitely appears to have the talent to slide into the rotation or on special teams from the get-go.
Pledger chose Oklahoma over the likes of Clemson, Tennessee, Nebraska, USC, UCLA and Notre Dame, among others.
