OU’s 2019 class is off to a roaring start, as Wease joined fellow Texan Arjei Hendeson in committing to the Sooners on Sunday. The two announced their decisions on Twitter.

Wease, who attends Allen High School, already has a staggering list of offers. Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Auburn, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia — Wease could have gone wherever he wanted. Apparently Kirby Smart was interested in both he and Henderson.
But the Sooners got Wease to commit a full two years before his National Signing Day — not bad work for the Sooners staff.
The Sooners have made a flurry of 2019 offers in the last several weeks, but Henderson and Wease become their first two commits. What’s truly impressive is the ambiguous future of offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley. Obviously the Sooners have assured these commits that the offense will still be flying high regardless of who’s calling the plays three years from now.
