Despite Tre Brown’s trip to Florida over the weekend, it seemed as if he was still a lock to sign with the Sooners. However, that apparently wasn’t the case according to Cody Stavenhagen of the Tulsa World.
Tre Brown's father told me Brown didn't finalize his decision between #Sooners and Florida until 6:30 a.m.

Brown had previously told both of his parents he was going to Florida. Kerry Cooks ended up being a deciding factor. #Sooners #Gators https://t.co/JBt74YudBJ

Tre Brown: "It was just a tough decision, but I knew where my heart was ... I stuck with OU. They'd been there for so long." #Sooners

Brown’s Florida-related tweets and retweets over the past few days had me worrying a little bit, and I was having to tell myself to chill out. It now appears that my paranoia was justified.
Anyway, Oklahoma fans should be incredibly delighted by the fact that Brown chose to stay in his home state. This guy has the type of speed that just doesn’t come through this program very often, and he’ll be able to compete for playing time from the get-go. The signees from the state of Oklahoma have a chance to be really special, and Brown may have more potential than any of them.
