Happy Bedlam game day, Sooner Nation! I can’t believe November is already upon us with the Oklahoma Sooners taking on the Oklahoma State Cowboys for the much-anticipated 112th annual edition of Bedlam. Both fanbases are on pins and needles with so much to lose/gain with their performance. The Big 12’s finest square off this afternoon in what could be the marquee game of the college football season, so far.
In fact, I feel it’ll be such a good game that neither team should have to lose. As much as that concept stings (and believe me, it does) concerning Little Brother, it’d just be a shame to see either squad wash out of the national title picture. This is Bedlam 2017, and everything is at stake.
I’ve gone back and forth trying to decide how the keystrokes play out to predict a winner in this ballgame, and my instinct tells me to go with OU...42-38. A close, hard-fought battle in Stillwater ends with mighty Oklahoma closing out strong and continuing yet another title hunt. The Sooners get out to a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter but the Cowboys keep it close throughout. Then, a fourth quarter to rival the 2010 edition of this rivalry happens.
If the Pokes make big plays happen early, then we all could be in for a long afternoon. But if Baker and the offense can play keep away from Gundy’s bunch then the opposite is true. Ultimately...OU never relinquishes control and comes away from Stillwater with a big W in hand, 42-38. Boomer Sooner!
