Hello once again, Sooner folks! The final Tuesday edition of the College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed tonight as the Oklahoma Sooners look to move up after the top two teams went down this past weekend. Meanwhile, and not that it’s breaking news, but Baker Mayfield still leads ESPN’s Expert Heisman Poll in the latest update. Oddly enough, since last week, the vote is still not unanimous, with Lamar Jackson receiving 1 first place vote. No matter, Mayfield holds a major lead and should be the runaway favorite when the official votes are finally tallied.

Now onto the Hot Links! Today you can read about how fortunate the Sooners are for locking down Lincoln when they did, where the Big 12 Championship Trophy was created, which coaching job Mike Gundy recently interviewed for and much more!

OU Links

  • Look who made the cover of SI! Boomer! Also, I will hear no talk of jinxes from any of y’all.
  • With all the major coaching positions opening up around college football, Sooner fans ought to really appreciate Bob Stoops’ timing when he decided to pass the torch to Lincoln Riley. Riley would have certainly been one of the hottest names out there if he was just the OC of the greatest offense in Oklahoma history.
  • The Big 12 Championship Trophy is actually made in Del City, Oklahoma. Seems only right for the trophy to be made in the same state as the team who has won it the most. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, it also has a new look.
  • Austin Seibert and Conner McGinnis sure are some silly Sooners. Check out this video campaigning for McGinnis as Holder of the Year.
  • Baker Mayfield set a new national record for passer efficiency last season, and he’s on pace to break it once again.
  • Mayfield and this offense are a perfect match. Beyond his own prowess as a passer, around him he has great o-line protection, smart and talented backs and receivers, and excellent play-calling. It’s no wonder why he thrives without being pressured.

National Links

  • These new Blue Angel uniforms the Navy football team will be wearing against Army are sweet. Because of my family’s ties, I’ll still be rooting for Army to beat Navy, but all of America wins with these uniforms.
