On Tuesday evening, 2019 running back Isaiah Spiller let us know what it was as he announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma. The four-star back out of Klein Collins High School was in Norman for an unofficial visit during the weekend of the TCU game.
Spiller is listed as the No. 21 running back in the country according to the 247Composite rankings and holds offers from Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Oregon and TCU. Standing at 6’1” and weighing in at around 185, the Houston-area prospect a big kid who still has plenty of room to bulk up — which is scary. As is, Spiller is a long-striding back with great vision and cutting ability who can also create some problems with his speed. Additionally, his length, agility and athleticism make him a very pass catcher out of the backfield.
Spiller is Oklahoma’s sixth 2019 commit and fourth on the offensive side of the ball. As far as offense is concern, the future looks incredibly bright as Spiller joins elite QB prospect Spencer Rattler as well as highly-touted TE Austin Stogner and four-star wide receiver Trejan Bridges. Oklahoma has made serious headway with a number of other big offensive and defensive prospects, so Oklahoma’s 2019 class could end up being one of the best in the country.
