After an impressive win over TCU as well as losses for Georgia and Notre Dame, Oklahoma only moved up one spot.

Following an impressive win over a top-10 TCU, the Oklahoma Sooners moved up to No. 4 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings. The Alabama Crimson Tide expectedly came in at No. 1, while the Clemson Tigers moved up two spots to No. 2. Additionally, the Miami Hurricanes made a big jump all the way up to the third spot after beating Notre Dame.

With Miami and Clemson having to play one another, I’m not too concerned unless a one-loss Clemson beats an undefeated Miami team in a close game. That would make me sweat a bit. The SEC situation can also work itself out in Oklahoma’s favor, especially if Alabama wins out. If Auburn were to win out, I’d worry a little bit about Alabama grabbing a second spot for the SEC, but not too worried since Bama would lack quality wins in that scenario.

I thought OU would maybe end up at No. 2 or No. 3 tonight. Having said that, I’m not going to freak out about it. Oklahoma making the CFP certainly isn’t quite 100% in the event that they win out, but it’s still pretty damn close.
