Oklahoma Sooners Football: Sooners remain at No. 9 in Coaches Poll, fall to No. 10 in AP Poll

There were no upsets in the top ten this week

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

After week 7 was filled with a plethora of top ten upsets, this weekend was mostly chalk. In fact, the only two top 25 teams that suffered a loss this weekend did so against other ranked teams. A lack of upsets means that this week’s rankings have not changed much from last week’s rankings. The Oklahoma Sooners dropped one spot in the AP Poll as they were leapfrogged by Notre Dame who scored a blowout win at USC on Saturday. The Sooners remained at No. 9 in the Amway Coaches poll for the second consecutive week.

Iowa State cracked the AP rankings for the first time this season, which means that the Big 12 now has five ranked teams, the most of any conference in the country. Think about that for a second, HALF of the ten teams in the Big 12 are ranked in the top 25 right now. That’s an impressive feat for the smallest Power 5 conference in college football. Here are the complete Week 9 AP and Coaches Polls.
