Well, this is definitely some outstanding news.
After years of 11 a.m. kickoffs for the OU-Texas game, fans of the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns should be happy to hear that the game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT this season. The game, which will be televised on ABC or ESPN, will start in the afternoon for the first time since 2010.

I know there are some of you who actually enjoy the 11 a.m. kickoffs. You don’t have to wait to watch the Sooners, and you then have the rest of the day to do your thing. However, this will allow us more time to have fun at the Texas State Fair and pay $10 (or however many tickets) for paper cups of beer. I definitely need some time to sample the food items, and I’m never in the mood to do that after the game. Also, those afflicted by the “Red River Flu” will have a much easier time making it to the stadium by kickoff.
After playing at 11 a.m on FS1 last season, it’s refreshing to know that this year’s game will get plenty of eyes. The rest of the Big 12 schedule isn’t quite as flattering as far as exposure is concerned.
The #Big12FB schedule is set for week 7.
