Oklahoma knew it would need some help if it wanted to climb back into the College Football Playoff race. Four top ten upsets this weekend gave them exactly that. Clemson, Washington, Washington State and Auburn all fell to unranked opponents and opened the door for the Sooners to work their way back into the playoff discussion. The upsets coupled with OU’s 29-24 victory over Texas helped the Sooners move up three spots to No. 9 in both the AP and Coaches polls.

The Big 12 has four teams featured in this week’s top 25, including three teams in the top ten. TCU, who remained unbeaten with a win over Kansas State, jumped all the way up to No. 4, Oklahoma State came in just behind OU at No. 4 and West Virginia reentered the poll at No. 23.
