Oklahoma Sooners Football: Sooners stay put at No. 3 in AP and Coaches Polls

USC falls out of the Top 10, while Washington State makes a big jump.

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Baylor Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

None of the top 10 teams lost on Saturday, but the weekend wasn’t without a huge shakeup. On late Friday night/early Saturday morning (for those of us in the Central time zone), the USC Trojans were upset on the road against the still undefeated Washington State Cougars. Head Coach Mike Leach has perhaps his best team since he’s been in Pullman, and now the Cougars are considered a legitimate dark horse to win the Pac 12 Conference. Around the country, three top 10 teams were on a bye week (OU, UM and TCU), Clemson and Auburn both won their top 25 matchups, and LSU has fallen out of the rankings after being upset by Troy.

The four Big 12 teams all held onto their AP rankings from last week, with the Oklahoma Sooners at 3rd, TCU at 8th, Oklahoma State at 15th and West Virginia at 23rd. Check out the rest of the rankings to see where the other teams stand:
