Addison Gumbs, one of the many talented recruits comprising OU’s 2017 class, has officially signed with the University of Oklahoma. Gumbs is expected to enroll at OU and participate in spring practice.

We said a little bit about Gumbs in our recap of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. It’s safe to say he’s gifted enough to contend for some playing time next year. If he takes care of business and impresses the coaches during the spring and summer months, it might just happen for him. I don’t know if he’ll wreak havoc on offensive backfields as early as 2017, but the dude will be a force in the future.
The guy has been recruited heavily by schools across the country since (and prior to) his commitment to Oklahoma back in August. In fact, some (many of you know who I’m referring to) had previously rumored a flip to Texas A&M. Many such as myself were confident he would sign with Oklahoma, but his recruiting saga has made people a bit nervous. But rest easy, OU fans — Addison Gumbs is an Oklahoma Sooner!
