Good afternoon Sooner nation! All of us here at C&C Machine are hard at work with National Signing Day looming. That doesn’t mean that we can’t have a bit of fun, though.

Without further ado, here are some quick and interesting links, reads, and videos for your afternoon:

OU Links

  • Tre Brown, a defensive back from the vaunted 2017 recruiting class, has been putting in work in order to make an immediate impact. Brown comes off as a really nice and confident kid, and the work ethic is clearly there, based on this Fox 23 story. Should fit in juuuuust right.
  • K’Jakyre Daley is another OU commit. He joined the Big XII Country podcast to discuss his playing style, his commitment, and the former OU player he sees in his game. Listen if only to learn how to pronounce is first name, once and for all.
  • Brady Vardeman of the Dallas Morning News breaks down where Samaje Perine, Joe Mixon, and other potential draftees might end up.
  • A congenital defect kept former Sooner and current Dallas Cowboy Charles Tapper off the field in 2016. He’s been cleared to play for the coming season. Good stuff—we wish the best to a very talented player with a lot of potential.

National Links

  • Missing college football already? We are too. We advise using Bill Connelly’s top 100 football games of 2016 list as a nicotine patch. Just be careful not to go overboard.
  • USC’s Adoree Jackson will be making plays on Sundays next season, but he’s not too big-time to still go to class. It’s really refreshing to see Jackson providing a positive example to future players. Major props.
  • Long-time broadcaster Brent Musburger is retiring from the biz later this month to help his family start a sports handicapping business. Musburger’s last call will be the January 31st game between Kentucky and Georgia.
  • Call him Tom. Former Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees is back in South Bend—this time as QB coach Tom Rees.
  • This incredible Reddit post by user USCFO is proof positive that Lane Kiffin and Daniel Tosh are, indeed, twin sons of Bill Nye the Science Guy. I knew it all along.
