Three-star defensive tackle prospect Austin Faoliu, who received an offer from Oklahoma last week, has announced that he is no longer committed to Arizona.

Faoliu’s stock has risen significantly in recent weeks. In fact, the Santa Ana, Calif., native has received scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Ole Miss and Michigan State since Christmas, and I wouldn’t expect that momentum to decrease anytime soon.
Faoliu is extremely athletic for a person of his size, which leads me to think he can exceed the expectations of a typical three-star prospect. It’s not like he’s a completely raw player, either. Watch how well he uses his hands in the video below.
Faoliu was expected to be in town this weekend for an official visit, but the weather could negatively impact those plans. Either way, he’ll be announcing his commitment on Jan. 21 at the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii. OU has only one DT commitment (Zacchaeus McKinney) at the moment, and a Marvin Wilson signing definitely isn’t something we should bank on. Therefore, a commitment from Faoliu would be enormous for the Sooners. Let’s hope it happens!
