Bob Stoops game some unfortunate injury news today, indicating that DL Matt Dimon and ILB Tay Evans will be out for Saturday’s game against TCU.

The front seven is thin enough as it is, but it’ll be pretty fun to watch their replacements. Neville Gallimore is the most physically-imposing person on the defense, and people have been clamoring to watch him since fall camp. That clamoring has intensified since fans were able to get a glimse of him against UL-Monroe, and game in which he had a strip-sack. Evans’ replacement will be Emmanuel Beal, who has actually looked pretty solid. The JUCO transfer possesses the speed and physicality that should please Sooners fans. However, if he or Jordan Evans gets hurt on Saturday, we’ll likely see walk-on Ruben Hunter. We’ve heard that he’s a nice player, but I’m assuming he’s not “starting linebacker for Oklahoma” nice. But maybe I’m being paranoid, since we could also see promising young guys such as Curtis Bolton or Arthur McGinnis at the ILB spot.
In addition, speedy RB Daniel Brooks will miss some more time.
