Wow, how fast the last two weeks have (thankfully) flown by. After a mostly uneventful Week 2 around the country, the excitement we felt heading into the season opener in Houston is starting to creep up on us once again. Granted, it isn’t every week, or season, the Ohio State University sends droves of fans (and eventually the football team) to Norman, Oklahoma, for a titanic clash of two of the sport’s most iconic programs. But despite the Sooners’ early loss, a win against Urban’s bunch this weekend and OU’s Playoff dreams can once again be dreamt.
Through this exciting week of hype and nerves, the guys here have broken down the dynamic J.T. Barrett, covered the ways the Buckeyes attack on both sides of the ball, gotten a great take from the other side and stuck our necks out with predictions on how things shake out tomorrow. Oh and yeah, Austin Kendall said stuff, too. So, we’ve pretty much covered it all.
Last thoughts for me, though, for a game of this magnitude really comes down to which Oklahoma team shows up against another early formidable foe in another early matchup of major implications -- the one that now feels its’ back against the wall as far as the College Football Playoff picture goes, or the one that beats itself. This Ohio State team is young, limitlessly talented but so far untested through the first two weeks of the season. And the Sooners have home field. This is a winnable game for either team, so hopefully mistakes or worse don’t ruin this gift of a matchup from the football gods.
What of the rest of the games around the country on this packed Week 3, though? Last week it was hard to scrape an actually competitive matchup from the pointless drivel that was the Week 2 schedule. This week, however, is replete with plenty of heat. Here are the games, other than the big one in Norman, I’m most looking forward to...
(2) Florida State @ (10) Louisville… This is the College GameDay site for tomorrow. On one side you have Deondre Francois, the next freakishly good product of the Florida State QB factory. And on the other side you have a literal superhero. Seriously, has anyone seen Lamar Jackson play this season? I hope everyone can and will tomorrow. Too bad the Cardinals defense is nowhere close as good as the electrifying offense. Free Shoes U wins in L’Ville, then heads to a party at Rick Pitino’s house. This could be the most exciting game of the day. (FSU 45, Louisville 35)
(1) Alabama @ (19) Ole Miss… Please, please, please, Rebs, beat ‘Bama for the third year in a row. Do it for college football, guys! I mean, you guys don’t blow leads at all, especially to young quarterbacks playing super-hyped road games early in their college careers in the comfort of your backyard. Nope. You’re Ole Miss, and you’re going to lose this game by 21, and most likely your girlfriends, too. But I’m sure the tailgating will be awesome. (‘Bama 42, Ole Miss 21)
Colorado @ (4) Michigan… Maybe Kordell Stewart plays quarterback and the Buffs win a big one in The Big House for the good ol’ Big 8! Actual score prediction: Michigan 34, Colorado 6. But at least you guys are hilarious...
In case you haven't seen this week's depth chart. What and who is in your favorite position? #GoBuffs pic.twitter.com/19qUmVyO6P

(12) Michigan State @ (18) Notre Dame… This one is on during the OU game, and one of the teams playing is Notre Dame. And the other is a university that used to house a tall, uncouth man named Draymond Green. There you go: three formidable reasons why I will not be tuning in to this one.
(11) Texas @ Cal… I guess we have to go for the ‘horns here. But by this time tomorrow (late kickoff), I will hopefully be in a state of euphoria, win or loss for OU. So it’s pointless to analyze this one any further. (texas 35, Cal 17)
Going out on a limb here, but I have a feeling Norman will be pretty hyped and very loud for this game. As all the lead-up talk is about to come to a close, football questions on both sides will finally be finding answers on the field during this time tomorrow evening. The scene has been set, and the show goes on in less than 24 hours. Clash of the Crimson and Scarlett Titans, here we go…BOOMER!
